I ordered it already..but if i have the modchip........Does this mean i don't need to use XboxHDM to install a HDD....Also what does config magic do

No you just need to know how to flash bios and download an autoinstaller disk. Links are in my page.

to lock and unlock hdd. with modchip, the xbox will read any unlock hdd.

If your hdd is lock by this xbox and you install the chip on this xbox also, the xbox will read it.
If the lock hdd from other xbox, then this xbox will not read it. Even it has a modchip. You have to unlock hdd first.

Ok,
I am installing a new 120 gig HDD so i need to unlock my original HDD
And take it out and put in my new one ......So do i need to lock it with config magic

with 120GB hdd, you don't need to lock. You only need to lock it if you want the xbox works on mochip off. Another words, you try to go for Xbox Live.
