I just got a HP 640i dual layer burner and am trying to backup Derailed using Verbatim dl blanks. I used decrypter in iso read mode to get to the HD and then used the MDS file to Burn in ISo write mode. The disc burned fine to 53% and then locked up. I am assuming that it was at or near the layer break but can't figure out why my machine froze. Any help would be great!! Is there another method that will work better than what I am doing?
Yes, quite possibly the problem, never burn at max speed.
For DL media stick to the safe 2.4x, its slower, but should produce a copy that plays without any problems.
EDIT:
What's also very important is to make sure your burner's firmware is always upto date. You can check to see what version is currently installed by using this utility, click on the link to get it then just run it.
Once you know what version you currently have installed, you can check to see if an update is available by clicking on this link and entering the model# in the search field. If an update exists, click on it to get it and then run the file to install it.
