Hey guys,
I love the DVD Shrink 3.2 plus DVD Decryptor programs to back up my dvds. However, for the first time I started having problems this weekend. I was trying to make a back up of Schindler's List from my sister's collection and had problems. I tossed it to the side and tried to make a back up on her Squid and the Whale DVD and then Broken Flowers DVD and got the same thing.
It is saying something about "Navigation Device Error" or something. I am not at the computer right now. I am going to go home tonight and scrap the program, then reinstall the program. Hopefully this will work but if not do any of you have any thoughts on why it is doing this in Shrink 3.2???

DVD shrink is no longer updated so it can't handle the copy protection on some of the new movie releases you maybe trying to backup, so use DVDFab decrypter first instead.

Get it here:
http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe

Use DVDFab to rip the files to your HDD, it will create a VIDEO_TS folder and put all the video files in it. DVDFab is a whole movie ripper only, so you're getting everything on the disk ripped to you're HDD, once DVDFab is done, run DVD shrink. Use DVD shrink to open the files created by DVDFab (use the open files tab and browse to the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab and choose it), at this point shrink will import the files, use shrink as you normally would to create your backup.

It's pretty simple to use, but here's a very good guide that should do the trick.

http://www.dvdshrink.info/dvdfab_decrypter.php

I also recommend you reauthor the movies you're backing up to copy just the main title (this represents the main movie only) and the 5.1 AC3 english audio channel.

How to use the reauthor mode in shrink

okay i just now started the process... right now the only clinch in the system has been the fact that the directions link you gave me showed the cursor clicking on a folder that dvdfab created...i did not have this folder so i just created a new folder on my desktop to put the dvds in... will this work, will this cause any problems?
i will add another post as i run into more problems... it is only a matter of time for me.

No this won't cause any problems, you should create you own folder and have DVDFab put the files there. Once done, DVDFab will have created a VIDEO_TS folder containing the video files within the folder you created.
