CloneDVD2 quality choices?

Hello all. New member.

I am a brand new noob to dvd copies. I just downloaded CLoneDVD2 and burned my first dvd copy. It was History of Violence and it worked flawlessly. My question is with the quality. I played the dvd and the quality is a bit grainy. I can live with it, but want to know if I am missing something to make it better? Is there an option somewhere? I basically want the best I can get that will fit on a dvd-r 4.7g.

You could try removing unwanted audio tracks and subtitles. Also you could do movie only with no subtitles.

Thanks for the reply. I also tried the option higher option above DVDR-5 and it went to 100%. But then it did not fit on the disc. Are there discs I can buy that I can copy at 100% quality and it will fit? Is that the "dual layer" people are talking about?

Yep that is the D/L disks. All you then need is just DVDDecrypter(along w/ AnyDVD if needed) and copy the DVD in mode-.iso read and after that go to Mode-.iso write and click on the .mds file. You will make an exact image copy of the original w/ the same layer break. I have not tried using CloneDVD 2 to do D/L. You might also upgrade you blank media to Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden as that might be what is causing the grainy picture. Also keep the burns speed to about 4X. If you try the D/L burn then I suggest you adjust the speed to no more than 2.4 until you get a few burns under your belt. Then you can try 4X and see what the quality is

If DL media is too expensive in your locality, or your burner doesn't burn DL, you can also use the CloneDVD "Scissors" feature to split the movie onto two single layer media and keep 100% quality. Get a DVD changer/player if you object to getting up and changing-out disks.

It's an icon with a picture of a scissors on it on the same page as you make your title selections. Or just click on help. The user manual is there. It tells how to split a movie.

@fusetech, first of all welcome to AD. CloneDVD 2 is awe-some and I use the scissors feature to split longer movies, and I will check the retain menus so that if I decide to stop I can go to the exact place where I stopped. I also use Rebuilder Pro with the CCE Basic (it's a high quality encoder that compliments Rebuilder Pro quite well)...I made two back ups of King Kong (3 hours)...one was split and the other was processed through Rebuilder Pro and I was very impressed how the quality was since the compression was like 50% and watching that on my 55 inch HDTV was a concern, but Rebuilder did a super job...of course comparing it to the original DL or the split copy you could see some minor compression artifacts, but nothing that I would complain about...actually I watched it again last night...compressed copy and zoomed the image just to see and it looked great.
Back to CloneDvd2, I also feel that even when compressing a longer movie CloneDVD 2 holds up quite well and would please even the most demanding viewer...follow the guides and learn about a great program and I'm sure you will be pleased.
