Okay, I'm having problem with my harddrive. Should I still use the harddrive to play backups or just use swap disc?

The reason I'm having problems with the harddrive is

1. Network adapter keep messing up
2. PS2 doesnt dectected the harddrive installed
3. The PS2 turn my harddrive hot, like its about to burn to dust.

If you know how I can fix the hd problem then tell me before I buy the swap disc.

I would get a modchip but I dont know anyone in mind that knows how to install it.

It sounds like either your HDD or network adapter are screwed.
Personaaly, I have used swap magic, and Hd Advance and I prefer HDA.
Get yourself a new network adapter, and or HDD and start again. It will save your laser at the end of the day and give you faster game loading times.

PC Specs: CPU-C2D E8400, M/B-P5N-E SLI, RAM 4Gig OCZ Platinum rev2 ,VGA- Nvidia 8800GT 512MB, HDD- Hitachi Deskstar SATAII 1TB, 250Gig Maxtor IDE HDD.
Corsair HX520 PSU, Liteon Lightscribe DVD Writer, Pioneer BluRay drive.

I'd start off by replacing the network adaptor.. Buy one from somewhere that has a decent return policy.. So if you find out it's not the adaptor you can always return it....

Now when you say that the Hard Drive isn't being detected does this happen when you take the drive out and try to reinstall it? if so I've found the connection can be kind of tricky and a Pain. If you don't have the connection just right you'll get an error... if it's happening reguardless try tighting it into place if that doesn't work it may just be the network adaptor itself....

I have both Swapmagic and use HD Loader .. I like having both for some games wont' work on HD Loader so it's good to have.. but I'd try to fix your hard drive probelm for it will expand the life of your laser...

goodluck

I think its the network adapter.

I was playing then it froze. I boot the ps2, and it said : HD Not Installed.

SO , I reinstall it, it works fine.

The screw is really messup bad.

You guys think gamestop or ebgames will sell a used good adapter?

I dont want to pay 30 dollars for one. Plus I have the gameinformer card to get 10% off.
