I started the encoding process and when it gets to like 12% encoded, an error message comes up saying that Overlapping I/O has occured, what do I do to keep this process going?

Thanks for the help?!

Run/open DVD shrink
Goto:edit-->preferences, look for I/O overlapping in one of the tabs:

In shrink's preferences, make sure that the setting for I/O overlapping (may increase ripping performance) is unchecked.

If it's already unchecked, it's shrink's way of saying it can't handle the copy protection on the DVD. DVD shrink is no longer updated so it can't handle the copy protection on some of the new movie releases you maybe trying to backup, so use DVDFab decrypter first instead.

Get it here:
http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe

Use DVDFab to rip the files to your HDD, it will create a VIDEO_TS folder and put all the video files in it. DVDFab is a whole movie ripper only, so you're getting everything on the disk ripped to you're HDD, once DVDFab is done, run DVD shrink. Use DVD shrink to open the files created by DVDFab (use the open files tab and browse to the VIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab and choose it), at this point shrink will import the files, use shrink as you normally would to create your backup.

It's pretty simple to use, but here's a very good guide that should do the trick if you need it.

I also recommend you reauthor the movies you're backing up to copy just the main title (this represents the main movie only) and the 5.1 AC3 english audio channel.

How to use the reauthor mode in shrink

If you're referring to clonedvd2 by slysoft, the answer is no, not by itself. Clonedvd2 lacks a decrypter that's required to remove the copy protection on the disk, it should be used along with anydvd to remove copy protection and allow you to make a backup.

If your referring to another application, well that application must also contain a decrypter that's updated to handle the new sony or microvision copy protection.

DVDFab decrypter is a whole movie ripper that also removes copy protection on the disk, so it rips and decrypts all in one shot. DVDFab is very well supported to keep up with the new copy protection placed on some of the new releases that shrink or DVD decrypter can't handle, but because it rips the whole DVD to your HDD, you'll need to shrink the files to fit on a single layed DVD disk, and that's where shrink or clonedvd2 come in (unless you plan on burning to DL media).

You can read about it here;
