I have the files installed in the correct places and have the .dax file as a .iso (as required) I have MPHGameLoader with the eboot in it and umdemulator with UMDEMU.ELF in it. I'm totaly lost when it comes to the firmware though. It states this.

Set up your firmware:

1. Your firmware files have to be placed in the HIDDEN folder on the root of your memory stick.

2. The flash0 & flash1 folders are your standard firmware , put your current setup in here.(WHAT DOES THAT MEAN STANDARD FIRMWARE???)

3. The flash2 and flash3 folders are for using a modified firmware at the same time. put a different firmware setup in here. (modified?)

FLash2 folder = your flash0 stuff
Flash3 folder = your flash1 stuff

For one of the setups i recommend using a 2.50 firmware dump. To make a 2.50 firmware
dump work correctly do the following when it is in your flash folders.

delete:

flash0\kd\resource\me_sdimg.img

and rename:

flash0\kd\resource\meimg.img
to
flash0\kd\resource\me_sdimg.img

You can use any firmware you wish in the other flash folders. You can use a
modified firmware, a 2.00 dump or whatever you wish.

Read the readme for instructions on how to work the actual program!

I'm totaly lost :s I have the 2.0 flash0 flash1 folders where do I put those? And what do I put in other 2 folders? Examples would help a lot :) I'm lost.

For some reason maxconsole has taken down the universal gameloader links. I dont know why, i put off gettin it.

Anyway everything you have listed is right, rename the dax.iso to .iso

put your normal flash0/flash1 eg

those files are the flash0/flash1 basically just move them over.

As for flash2/flash3 youll need to do what he recommends dump the 2.5 firmware
http://www.maxconsole.net/?mode=news&newsid=6352
go there it will tell you the tools needed and the steps needed

Once you have the dump youll need to do the renaming part

Are you sure the flash folder for GTA are 2.5 dump?
GTA only required the 2.0 dump

This is the GTA pack that has the 2.0 flash folders
http://tinyurl.com/rotwg

i dont know where to get 2.5 flash folders thats why id suggest you dump it using the method on the page i sent you

sorry got it confused i have the 2.0/2.5 hybrid ones. from the link you provided earlier via http://www.benanddana.com/Downloads/PSPDBZFix.rar I also have that gta pack as well i got from irc. do i need origional 2.5 or is hybrid better? I'm still lost about where it states standard firmware as to what that means. I was just wondering what a typical setup would be.

Ok all you have to mess with is the stuff in the HIDDEN folder

On your psp youd have the HIDDEN folder ISO, PSP, inside the hidden folder find flash0 and copy your 2.0 flash0 over that.
Now do the same for the flash 1 folder copy the 2.0 flash 1

I dont know what you mean by typical setup id do it like the creator suggest use the 2.5 dump for the flash 2,3
Now youve got to get the 2.5 firmware dump and the flash 0 flash 1 from the 2,5 dump will become the flash 2,3 for the HIDDEN folder respectively.

I dumped and put it on my stick. I'm not sure though do I need it for any games? Does it make dax more compatiable?

Yeah you will need at least the flash0 and flash1 folders
but it is reccommended for better compatibility that you have firmware 2.5 dump in the flash2,3
If your lazy you can just use the same flash0,flash1 but that may only run the 2.0 required games.

I can't get anything to load from dax when it's in the hidden folder under the universal loader. I can load games though when i just have the dax program on thier the regular way. I'm not sure why that is but when I try to open the iso it crashes back to the universal gameloader screen. Any ideas?

try putting the 2.5 firmware dump as your flash0/ flash 1
ie
swap your flash 0 for your flash 2
and your flash 1 for flash 3
vice versa

I have still nothing :/ Now I can't even get dax to load the iso the normal way by using system menu - mphgl. I click on it to load then it says blah blah ... Then hangs. The thing i've noticed the most about the psp is the memory sticks can be really touchy sometimes. (well mine can) sometimes it doesn't want to read the games for the nes or snes emulators :'(
