When I click the "Write Existing Data" option and click the browse button to find video files they do not show up. Afterwards I go back to check to see if they are still in the right folder and they are. Anyone know why this is happening? Do my video files have to be in a certain format or something in order for them to be recognized? Any help will be appreciated.

Yes they need to be an iso/udf format or you can pick the video_ts folder which has the VOB,ifo etc files.
What format are your files in?

They are mostly AVI. How do I go about changing the format? What do I need to do afterwards?

If you have Nero you can use that - here's a guide:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/272946

If not check out the guides for 'DVDR: Other video formats to DVDR' in the guides section at aD -

Some programs are free and can be downloaded from aD.

This information is useful but there has to be a way that does not take nearly as long. My friend uses Clone DVD and he does not have to change the format. Clone DVD automatically recognizes the the files. What do u think I'm doing wrong.

Did you try the other 2 options in ClonDVD - Copy DVD Titles or Clone DVD - to see if they're recognized there? Both of these options also allow you to pick the folder the files are are in.

I did that too. It says at the top "Select the Video_TS Directory where the IFO/VOB files are located. I read this to my friend and he said his does not do that. All he does is hit browse and it lets him select the AVI files.

I'm not sure that CloneDVD does .AVI. The other 2 options I mentioned are on the first screen above 'write existing data'. They have a browse option.

I use Nero. I don't do that many .avi file mainly because of the time it takes. Last one I did one a few months ago I want to say was 2 hours.
I'm curious how your friend does it w/ CloneDVD though.

How do your files not come as AVI? All of mine come like that if I get them from the internet.

Depends on what and where you download. I've downloaded .AVI files too but they need to be converted to play on standalones. That's where Nero comes in.
