I was haveing problems getting a second pack of maxells to work on my Dvd player, the first pack of 25 work great. So after reading on here and finding what you all tell me this is what it reads on the disc. The BAD ones are cmc mag.ae1 The good ones are mxl rg03. So what does this mean? Can I take the crappy ones back?

Lots of people have trouble with certain discs, and CMC is one of the brands that many writers don't play nice with. I'd try taking them back.

yes hes right, most companies dont put time and money into there "media" and as a result your DVD Writer/Burner doesnt like it when u "feed it those discs" and refuses to write on them. you could try updating your firmware but your best bet is to take those back and purchase some nice Verbatim or those other realy good ones .... wat r they called? Tayo Yuden? i think thats the best one but personaly ive used Verbatim and i havent hade one bad disc yet.

The funny thing is though, like I said in a previous thread, they play in every cheap $25 dvd player in the house but want play on the high dollor one in the tv room.

outdoor- Ironinally Those High dollar players are often more picky than every cheap $25 dvd player in your house as you said ! And as the other members said ! CMC media not a good idea !Sorry Buddy!

What model drive are you using to record the CMC MAG discs? What firmware version? I can check to see if the drive/firmware are compatible with the discs and, if not, what version of f/w will allow better recording to them.
