Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Me too, I just purchased Broke Back Mountain/FS, Dirty/WS, and Chronicles of Narnia/FS. I'll let everyone know how "easy" "hard" these flicks are over the next few hours.:P

use dvd region+css free and shrink dvd at same time, works like a charm, no special tricks. never had a movie i couldn't crack through, ever!
Currently using the following w/o any problems to date:
AnyDvd, DvdDecrypter, DvdShrink, DvdFab Gold, DvdIdle Pro, Dvd Region-CSS Free, CloneDVD2, Nero Ultimate.
Working for a major DVD Distributor has its perks.

I'm using Any DVD 5.9.4.1 and it didnt take off the encryption from Brokeback Mountain, got the same message log when inserting the disk, when I burned the disk, I got a disk read error on the disk. I also used DVD Decrypter to try to put the files on my harddrive and there was this error message...
W 19:39:28 Possible Structure Protection Found!
W 19:39:28 1 area has been marked as 'suspect'.
W 19:39:28 Dummy sectors will be inserted where necessary.
I also tried to update my AnyDVD and got a file corruption error after I rebooted my computer and now it doesnt work. Any suggestions? email me at **removed** with suggestions.

This problem has been addressed with the latest version 5.9.5.3. John123 has mentioned this in other posts. Try the latest version. You should be in business.
Who is that shadowy figure?

Absolutely....
The newest update of AnyDVD makes it even better. But I must continue to say.....
I haven't had any issues w/ANY MOVIE (new or old) since I paid for AnyDVD & CloneDVD.
I can't remember the last time I used Shrink.
Everyone....
Get AnyDVD & CloneDVD now to save yourself all the frustrations.

This is not an error message from DVD Decrypter this message shows the program is working correctly and will insert dummy sectors were needed in the rip. You will get this message all the time with Decrypter.

I just did a back-up of BBM. I have AnyDVD running, ran it through DVD Decrypter, and then shrink. I can only get around 76% compression. Any thoughts on boosting this?
Will this still play OK at that rate?

This movie is nothing special. Decrypter copies it, Shrink does it's thing. Click, click, done.

Yup. It copied fine and Shrink was doing its' thing. Just want to know if I can get it above around 76%. Or if the movie will play fine at that compression.
I can get it to 77.7% by setting the size to DVD-5 ( I usually have it set at custom 4300) And I've set the start/stop at the fade in and fade out.

radiodude:
The compression percent depends on personal taste and the type of TV you own. I have a HGTV 50 inch plasma and I can't really see differences in the quality until you dip below about 55%. What you can always do is make one copy with the movie and one with the special features, and it should help increase the compression percentage. Also, you can burn with dual layer DVDs and then compression would not occur.

That is the compression I got for the movie, you won't do any better. If you are worried about quality then do deep analysis with Shrink and set your AEC quality enhancements
90-99.9% - Max Sharp
80-90% - Default Sharp
65-80% - Smooth
65% - Max Smooth
