Hi,

I have been reading thru the other threads but am still a bit confused as of what to do.

I have a made for TV movie that my cousin had taped and transfered onto a DVD for ... I would like to make another copy of this movie for my mom but am lost on how to do it.

I downloaded that DVD shrink thing but am not sure what to do with it or if i can even copy this DVD to another DVD with that program?

If someone had a few mins to tell me in easy basic beginner talk what i need to do i woulod really appreciate it.

Thanks
Cathy

i'm a newbie too.but this much i know...you only use shrink when the movies you have are much larger to fit on a recordable dvd disc.If your cousin already transfered the movie to a recordable disc(usually a.. +r/-r disc) then all you need is a regular dvd burning software like Nero burning rom 7..which you can find a trial version availabe in the software section of this site...

You mean you want to do a copy of a copy? So you use dvddecrypter(you can get it from here http://bbmayo.home.comcast.net/software.htm ) and then you go to mode>>>iso>>>>read. Choose the folder to where you want to copy the movie to.Then just press the [ button.

When decrypter finishes just use you favourite burning software or decrypter to burn the iso file.

You should be able just to open disc and rip it to your hard drive, with out any encryption then you will need to download DVD Decrypter (also free) and use this to burn your movie from your hard drive to your disc. Follow this guide to set up your programs, but like I siad you can just open up the disc being it is already a DVD-R. http://bbmayo.home.comcast.net/backup%20with%20Decrypter&Shrink.pdf

From there you should be able to back up other encrypted movies too. Wish there was an easier way (this is Pretty Simple) but some steps are involved. ---zen-->

@cath1024

Yes, you will have to use dvddecrypter.Follow the instructions i gave you on my last post and you should be able to do it.You dont need to decrypt.Just need to read the dvd in iso mode and then just burn it.It doesnt look dificult. If you want to undestand more on how to dvddecrypter works check some of these guides http://bbmayo.home.comcast.net/guides.htm .Good luck.

The decrypter is the burner program it is what you will need to write the dvd th your blank disc. Go up to soft ware there you will find it easy to download and free ---zen-->

Now just burn the iso file. You can use dvddecrypter for that if you like...Stick the dvd in the drive and then in dvddecrypter go to mode>>>iso>>>>write. Then press the same button, then wait some time, then done.
Ps:do not burn at full speed.Burn at half of the speed of the media you got. Please lets us know after if you did it. :-)

Well that was easy!
Thanks alot guys for your help :-)

So is it different if you wanted to downlaod a movie from a file sharing site like limewire? Like if you were to download a movie from the internet could you copy it to a DVD just as easy as i just did with this one or is there more involved if its a Big Screen type movie you wanted to copy?

Thanks again
