Whenever I use Shrink to make a copy of a copy, the new copy always has pixelation problems and such. Why is this and if I use something else...say....DVD Fab, will it turn out the same way?
There is no reason to use Shrink to copy a copy(unles you copy a DVD 9 to a DVD 5). And if you use DVDFab, you will then need Nero or other burning software. Like tmfloria says, DVDDecrypter ISO mode is the way to go.
in addition to the other replies, my personal method for this is simply to copy/paste the video_ts directory from the backed up dvd, to hard drive via windows explorer's copy/paste; then i burn to another dvd using Nero Burning Rom, as a dvd-video compliation. if i have trouble with the copy/paste process ie i'm trying to copy from a crap quality disc then i use DVD Decrypter, though lately i'm switching from copy/paste back to DVD Decrypter as it's ever so slightly more informative of what it's doing than windows explorer :)
saying that i've virtually fininshed ridding my collection of crap quality discs so it's a moot point what method i use now as the backup copies will just copy fine via any method..
