PS2 Not Reading Games ... ?

Hey everyone, I recently got Kingdom Hearts II and whenever I try to load it up, I get the PS2 logo, and then I here a clicky sound in my PS2. This isn't the first time I get this, it also happens with Final Fantasy X-2 and X (at a certain point in the begining).

I'm at the point where I'm going to buy a new PS2 to replace my flip-top. So, any fixes/advice?

Which version ps2 do you have and what method are you using to boot your backups?

I'm not sure of the version, but I use Swap Magic 3.6 to boot.

Is there a place I can check the version?

hey if anyone can help I dont know what to do!!! I have a simeler problem. My ps2 has a chip and it does every thing just fine. I dont have any cliking, but I donwloadet Kingdom Haerts 2 wich start up fine and when the begining asks to start the game or load I cant move up or down it then runs the begining since it wont friz up. The controle is fine I chek that and every other game rouns and I am able to control them. I even went out and rentet the game same problem with an original disc.????

I got it!!!! The game was booting fine no problem at al but I had an original PS1 controler, I when out and got the duolshok2 for the PS2 every thing works just fine ;-) thanks though

I am having a similar issue with my PS2 but everyone seems to have issues with their PS2's reading DVDs mine is the opposite mine reads my Swap Magic DVD 2.0 USA every time. BUT when I try and boot my Swap Magic CD 3.0 USA version it pops the PLAYSTATION black logo screen but then cycles back the to memory card and CD-ROM browser. It is very annoying I have to keep trying to boot it like 3-4 times before it pops the load Program screen. I think my poor PS2 is getting tired. :(

Correction let me clarify. The issues is only with my Magic Swap CD 3.0 USA version. When I get it loaded the Back-Ups load fine. And no the CD is not scratched or dirty :( Damn Pressed CD
