whats the best for backing up a dvd on ur hard drive? The anydvd ripper or the dvd decrypter? Or is there somehting better?

AnyDVD handles all the latest copy protections - so your good there.
DVD Decrypter, while no longer updated, is still a great ripper to have - esp. good on those less than perfect discs imo.
With this combo - you should be able to rip anything. You can run AnyDVD in the background w/ decrypter.
Change these settings in decrypter if running AnyDVD in the backgound w/ it:
Go to Tools>settings
General Tab - uncheck 'check for structure protection'
I/O Tab - check ElbyCDIO-Elaborate Bytes
CSS Tab - check none under css cracking method.

Yep - dvdfab decrypter will handle all the latest copy protections.

hi guys I been looking for help gettign teh subitles off the DVD everythign else seems to rip ok but the sub timeing is off,also how can I copy more than 1 sub stream?
