did you change the media? check out the disk..... maybe it's not being recognized by your writer!? sounds like a media problem. what type of media are you using? here is a media guide: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Rule of thumb..... use Made-In-Japan disks, they are the best! Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony, Maxel..... those are the only ones I trust and I don't have media issues anymore!

I use sony and verbatim disks, I tried to write on both of these types and get the same error message. This problem happened after I had recorded two movies successfully, one right after the other, on the third movie this is when it happened.
Any other suggestions? the movie I was attempting to burn was Prime, I don't know if this just won't burn or what. I am going to try another title to see if this is the case.

ok...... now that I know it's not really a media problem ...... it's a program problem..... guess what!......Prime is a new movie and DVDXCopy is old and not updated anymore for a longgggggggg time now! I suggest you use DVDFab Decrypter(it's free) to rip to the hard drive. You can get it here: http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
then use DVDShrink (it's also free) to transcode the movie and you can burn to disk! You can get Shrink here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

now you need some guides to put this altogether and show you step by step how to backup your DVDs: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html
http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial007.html
TAKE YOUR PICK!

And when you're done with that and you want to know more about DVDs and answer more questions you may have..... read this thread..... very helpful: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136

I just gave you some free programs that should do the trick for Prime and most other titles! there are many other programs out there that do even better jobs than these!~ When you are ready try others and see what you like. These are free ones..... I use ones that cost me money because it gives better quality and easy to use.
