Someone offered me a V9 PS2,3 games, controller, ethernet adapter and hookups for $78 shipped. He said he bought it cheap off someone because it only read CD's. Also said he tested the laser and it was fine and that he just adjusted the cog or something on the laser. Now it reads everything. I've delt with him before and trust his as far as not ripping me off.

Said he could give me 5 days to fully test it.

What I am wanting to know is, is it a bad idea to go with a PS2 thats already need the laser adjusted? I only plan on using it to play games off the HDD so the laser will only be used to backup games to HDD and load HD loader. Or am I better off paying another $30-40 and getting a different one that could end up doing the same thing.

a new laser only cost $20? I was thinking $40-50 range but never looked. I might get it then. I could probably get $20 out of the 3 games and only have $58 in it.

Wrong... v9 lasers are usually 400-C... About $40-$50 like you said.

Those are slimline lasers he gave you actions for.

That is a pretty good deal for the v9 and NA

Whats the chances of it giving me issues down the road and it just reading originals?

This a simple cleaning adjustment will fix it? Been reading around and it seems it doesn't matter much what version you go with you have a good chance of having laser errors.
