"Verifying DNAS" PS2 hangs

I am trying to connect my slim modded PS2 to Internet to play online. I am trying with Winning eleven 9. I setup the network but when reaching the step of verifying DNAS I think PS2 hangs because the background music stops and nothing happens after that. I never registered my PS2 with SONY beacause I lost the network setup disc and I don't know if this is a necessary step or not. The game is not original, I am expecting to get any error message regarding this issue but I didn't. please help.

I never registered but I got games to work online, the only games that havent worked online for me is the ones with the S shape thing on the front cover like SOCOM, it says veryfiying DNAS and also hangs for me. Try a different copy, did you patch Wining Eleven with a Working DNAS using winDip

I didn't patch it. I thought it I would get error message or something. I never tried to play online, recently I configured my DSL router for this purpose. Can you tell me how to do the required patching. Thanks.

Get WinDIP, search google and you'll find.

Open it, Select the Pro Evo Soccer ISO.

Click Verify

Than Input the DNAS code which can be located in the PAL DNAS thread.

Than Click Patch

Burn it and your ready to start playing online
