1. I've heard some talk about memory card speeds and that you need a decent speed to play music / movies / legal backups well so which speed/card should I go with?
2. Are there any manufacturers that I should avoid when looking for the memory sticks?
3. Could anybody direct me to a link where I can learn about downgrading firmware to 1.50?
I appreciate any advice, thank you.

what firmware do you have? as far as mem sticks go, i recommend sony or sandisk. i havent seen many mem cards that are to slow to play iso's

Any card should be fine, just dont go for the 4gb hdd its very slow to transfer and load, some ppl cant watch movies or music on thiers without upgrading to higher firmware.
During gameplay it is ok but load and read/write speeds bite
The fastest is sandisk ultra speed
