Two Days? Ouch! Check to make sure DMA is on.

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking%20DMA.pdf

Many older Movies can be backed up with DVD Shrink alone. DVD43 is not updated often. Last update was almost three months ago. Try AnyDVD 21 day free trial.

Please post your Nero log, but ommit the first line (your serial number).

It sounds like the DMA. If not, is it just specific movies or a bunch in general?

this problem has only happened to these movies. i have backed up other movies. as for the Nero log the movie never made it to Nero unless dvdshrink uses that to encode. and if that is the case i dont know how to get the log. thanks.

@dogontop
Another reason it can take this long is these discs are dirty/scratched/bad press. Try cleaning them off 1st.
If shrink w/ DVD43 couldn't do them (older movies so probably should have) what error or what happened w/ these progs?
When dvdfab decrypter finished ripping them how we're they messed up?

If Shrink is autoburning than you are probably buring w/ Nero.
Your Nero log can be found here:
Nero 6: program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory.txt
Nero 7: program files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>nerohistory.txt
Just be sure to edit out your serial # - they usually begin w/ 1A,1C, 5C. Also logs are separated by something like this:
=======*** Nero Burning Rom History*** ========

First - let's edit out the serial # - it begins w/ 1a23 - it's in each log. Don't need someone else using it!
Now comparing the 1st log to the last log your Toshiba went from DMA being 'on' to 'off'. This can mean that those older discs did have read errors & and after so many the drive reverts to PIO mode which is slower. So it needs to be turned back on - both dvd roms actually.

Your drive's firmware can definitley use an update - this helps it with the read and write strategies of media. You can get it here - the latest is 2.1G.
http://sony.storagesupport.com/dvdrw/dru530adwn.htm

Your Nero can use an update to - the latest one that will burn w/ shrink is 6.6.0.18:
http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Your using great discs - TY. What problems are you having?

My thinking is the discs are scratched/dirty and if this is the case then you had read/crc errors which after so many (5/6 I think - Creaky's knows the #) made your drive revert to PIO mode.
Without knowing the movies or the error you received w/ the shrink/dvd43 combo + plus you said they were older movies again I'm guessing you probably received crc errors.
The problem I was asking about was when dvdfab was done but you said the files were messed up - didn't know if that was burn/playback related.
Now since you using TY and updated your firmware - you're good on the burn part!

Ah CRC errors - read errors - in older movies that shrink can handle that means the discs are probably scratched/dirty/bad press.

It can't hurt to burn at 8x on those TY's - try it and see how they play. Any problems you can always just reduce the burn speed. But
for your drive since the max burn speed is 8x - I would use 6x or 4x.
