Is this true that the TY 4x dvd-r is being discontinued because i read this from supermediastore.

the 4x DVD-R TYs...with the TYG01 media ID coding HAVE been long gone for several months now~ :) when ordering from supermediastore.com for the tape wrapped spindles now (shiny silver lacquer) you will MOST LIKELY get the 8x rated TYG02s and also the possibility of the 16x rated TYG03s, however, i'm leaning more towards the TYG02s being shipped to ya~ :)

don't expect to receive the TYG01s at this point in time, i'm glad i got my hands on a lot of them when they WERE still available~ i like them very much~

Majority of the 4x speed media has been extinct for a while.

Looks like those sony Yuden000-T02's are disappearing as well. Every local store now carries the +1x-16x speed sony,and all made in Taiwan.. After burning some of those SonyD21,the discs smell horrible.

Those ty-g02's should be even better.My overall success rate drastically improved since I quit burning the older 4x media.Some of this quality 8x and 16x media performs better at a higher burn speed.I was quite suprised at how many more errors I got on my Verbatim +16x backups that were burned at 2.4x and 16x.
