Its sad but true it appears people will never truly be able to come to terms with the truth, but the xbox360 whether people choose to believe it or not IS more powerful than the ps3 and my proof is the fact that the 360's videocard has a unified shader architecture what the hell does all this mean? Lets put it like this NVIDIA the company that made the videocard for the ps3 will be including a unified shader architecture on their 2006 lineup of videocards. A unified shader architecture has NEVER been used on a videocard ever, its new technology that no current computer videocard has and nvidia as well as ati (ones making videocard for the 360) will be releasing them next year.

A videocard without a unified shader can NOT compare to one that does... simple fact. The 360 gpu will be able to perform at 100% efficiency at all times because its unified shader and thx to the 10mb of edram included it'll be able to offer free antialiasing aka 4xaa at no performance loss whatsoever and the efficiency will be a constant 95-99% with 4xaa on.

There is nowhere you can get such a new technology videocard other than the xbox360 currently this technology wont touch the pc till next year. Now the ps3 gpu is a videocard that is slightly less powerful than a 7800gtx. Its bad enough a 7800gtx can't compare with a unfied shader video card and the ps3's gpu is less than that? Now I'm not trying to convince anyone to go out and get a ps3 over a 360 or a 360 over a ps3 because I could care less, but I thought people would want to know the truth of which is more powerful graphically.

Proof that a unified shader is the future and already in a 360 whereas nvidia wont have one available till 2006 and by no means will they waste all that money developing the videocard for the ps3 then change it.... So the more powerful videocard for the next gen consoles is in the xbox 360.

There are many other factors to consider overall performance, but for every advantage the ps3 has the 360 wins in other more virtal categories. I'll buy both as well as everyone else I'm sure, but it should be known that the ps3 is incapable of stomping the 360 graphically.
