I have recently bought Kingdom Hearts 2 and backed it up on my HDD. I've been playing nonstop until I got to the gummi ship mission. It just freezes and doesn't do anything. I went searching the net and found that it was not only me that had this problem. Does anyone have a fix for this. I wouldn't mind playing these mission off of DVD but my laser really is starting to lack speed and die out.

i've been searching for the past 2 days.... i've found out so far, that the game might be doing a Memory wipe, at that stage, kinda how Rachet and clank:3 does it, dont know if there is a fix for that, but also, the game doesn't access either the DVD or HDD when loaded from HDD after this point, so i dont know if it's confused or waht... .can we have alittle bit more insite?
and
someone if they could... i lost the thread i asked this in....
can you load up Swap Magic or any other ISO of the sort on HD loader?
and if so.. can they walk me through it :)

i have the same problem...seems ill have to buy it if no one fixes it...also, how do i patch games? I dont know how to get my PS2 hooked up to the PC, i dont have a router or anything of that nature...

if you guys didnt allready know, from reading a oter posts at another site at the gummi ship the game loads another elf supposdly, so it will not play anymore.
rvinkebob, it is not just you it happens with everyone who is playing from the HD, and i belive this includes toxic OS. From what I have heard to fix this you have to make sure you save sometime before you get to the gumi ship and then play from the disc until you have passed the gummi ship. Once you have passed the gumi ship, save the game and then load taht game save on the HD. Unitl someone creates a fix or a patch i believe thats the only way to fix the problem. Either that or always play from the DVD.

does this mean for every Gummi ship level? or just the initial level?
if its every level, id rather just buy this game...

yes... it does do it at every gummi ship.. cuz it's loading a screen... been trying to work things out.. maybe get swap disc to play from my HDD.. cuz i dont' feel like paying for it... or cogswap.. dont know...
still no one has anwsered my question.. if you could load those up on HD loader.. and play the disc

It doesnt have a patch it just says its "Available but not uploaded" for the KH II In US

Hehe, I did say that the patch not uploaded on their site yet.
Just keep an eye out for it when someone upload the patch for it.

someone said that use Zoneloader to make it work.

Not modded as in no mod chip, no fliptop, and no exploit? Then no.
Exploit, then you can run zoneloader off the memory card. Then use a fliptop and swap in KH2.
Fliptop you can just burn zoneloader on a disc and use the original swap program u used to load this one up.
Modchip can just run kh2 burned, assuming it's compadible.

Edit : it froze after I finish the Hollow stage. I have to replay the stage now. Forgot to save oops.

ok so me and my cousin got it ot work once we got it t work to let us do one gummi ship mission the one to go to the beasts castle by enabling mode 1 only?? any thoughts

I'm not sure dude. I didnt turn any mode on and um... It allow me to do the Hollow or whatever its called. Then after I beat it,I tried to go to other worlds and the game froze.
I want to save this game onto the harddrive too. The loading takes so long that I want to throw my ps2. ;)

I think its just like if the game feels like it THE GAME HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN! well i mean Im trying a whole bunch of different modes.

Why isn't there a KH2 patch or something.
I just cant stand it that I cant get past the gummiship levels.
My friend has a fliptop with swap magic and I asked him if he could play the Gummiship levels for me but my parents are sepperated and he lives in my mothers neibourhood and I'm at my dad's right now.
It's summervacation rightnow and its an hour by car so I cant get any further.
It's even the last door, the one that leads to twilighttown when the world that never was already appeared, and I cant get past it.
Man I hate that.
The only thing I can do now is try beating Sephiroth but he is too DAMN hard. :(

Hey guys, update: I beated Sephiroth, with all drives at 7+ the Ultima Weapon he wasn't all that hard.
Well I finished the game and I already can't wait to play KH3.
I would still appreciate a patch for KH2 to work normally on HD loader.

I dont know if this is possable, but maybe someone can make a patch that just skips the gummiship levels. When u go to activate them it just takes you right to where you would be when u complete it instead of loading the gummi level. Personally, I always wanted to do this anyway since I really did not like those missions (only part of the game I didnt like btw).
