Hi
My Son has a PsP and we have wirless around the house, its unprotected (naughty I know) but it wont connect, it keeps asking for the ssid, I use other wirless devices without any problem??? Can anyone help.

hmmm.. do a search, i had some problems but found all my answers on this message board and maybe another...
depends on your router, and other things...
i added my PSP's mac address to my routers allow list and it worked.

Thanx I will have a look, it scans ok but then says the wlan isnt working, its not protected so it must be blocked some how, what is the SSID?

I am asking if anyone can help, Have wireless as I said in the beginning thread it is unproctected, no password, nothing.

If ur tryin to access that page its this mate: http://72.21.43.146/~raven/forums/ Go to network settings on ur psp an select infrastucture then scan the ssid should come up on alist, select it and set everything to auto, internet DO NOT START, a menu should come up scroll down and it should tell u if u can access the net.

its another security measure "SSID broadcast" i use this feature as well, just turns off your SSid broadcast, so you can pick up the signal but you cant see the name of the network ie SSID
stops ppl from logging on, cant get on unless you have the SSID even tho its unprotected. Find the name of the network, either through the router, or thru the other devices which you say are connecting fine, if they connect fine they will have the SSID
