ok,
I have the xbox original dashboard which I downloaded from the site link you gave me. I think the only way to do this is via the instruction set on hotswapping. I have an old PC that I can play around on so I wont blow anything up.
I will take the xbox apart tomorrow and try the complete rebuild over the weekend.
I dont suppose you can start from scratch with a new HHD can you?
Will you still be around to contact over the weekend on here?

Return,
I cannot thank you enough for all the support you gave me yesterday and I am sure it was pure fluke that the mod installer loaded back up. So, now that this up and running again I have made a complete backup of the xbox drives. c,d,e,f,g,x,y,z using FTP. I found I get access to more if I use the Evoxdash. I reckon the unleashed dash looks better thou ?!?!
If I had the media centre as my dashboard can I still rip games to the HDD? If so will have this as my dash change swap out the HDD for a big 250gig one and leave it there.
That way I will have the media centre in the car and I can ftp all my music, movies to it. rip the games to it and I am happy.
On the home straight ??!?!

Dude,
I promise to follow your every command.
1) Can my games be ripped to HDD from XBMC
2) Can you show / guide me in the HDD swap out
3) Guide me how to get the dash to boot as XBMC
I have created a backup and I will do nothing without instruction when it comes to copying, moving, deleting files.

Cheers dude,
Do I download DVD2XBOX to the xboxitself (when the HDD is swapped) and then just run it from the file manager ?
I already have config Magic so I will just load that up and do the eeprom backup and then backup the drives the PC and follow TUT you sent me.
I will try this (HDD swap) tonight when I get home as I am at work at the moment :-)
Will keep you posted.

Return,
I am following some instructions to swap out drive. It appears I have an older version of xboxhdm and once I have created the ISO file I cannot burn it. I have tried alcohol and Nero and it just wont write.
Do you know where I can get v1.9. I tried xbox-hq but they have some really fucking annoying download thing where you have to click these buttons to enable downloads. I keep on doing it and it keeps sending me back to the enable downloads page after 4th attempt I got pissed off.
Any ideas?
