OK,

I created the ISO and burnt it to DVD in Nero. Shut PC down and changed BIOS to boot from CD drive and it wont do anything it just boots into windows and thats it.

In Nero all I selected was burn image. It seems to have worked as all the files are there OK. I cant use alcohol as it get to 2% and then it stops.

Ideas?

I am guessing I burnt it right.

1) loaded Nero V6
2) Select DVD
3) Select copy / back up menu
4) Select 'Burn Image to disc'

It runs?

Is this right?

One thing. Because you build a brain new hdd. YOu just connect it to Primary IDE on PC. All other drive should be disconnected.

hdd is master.
if you have dvdrom on the same IDE cable of hdd, then set slave.
if dvd on secondary IDE then set master.

But make sure the cd boot first.

Try burning the image using DVD Decrypter to burn your image.

You can get the freeware here:

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/1011845169/1

Open DVD Decrypter, then go to "Tools", Select "ISO", and then "Write" on the submenu box that pops up. When this screen appears you can either browse for your ISO file, or just drag and drop it into the window. Before clicking on the "HDD to DVD" icon at the bottom, make sure that you have the verify box ticked and the Write Speed set at a low speeed to ensure that it is properly burned.

Once this is all done, click on the HDD to DVD icon at the bottom.

Cheers Matey,

I have tried that but I get the same problem. I have tested the PC's ability to boot from DVD and it works fine. However, I have just opened the ISO that the batch file makes and this is its contents:

[c]
[e]
[eeprom]
[f]
[isolinux]
[rr_moved]
[xbox]
about_this_cd.txt
check
readme.txt

And thats it. There is no bootable files in here???. I have had a look in the ISOLINUX folder and that contains:

boot.cat
fatximage
freeboot.img
initgrz.gz
isolinux.bin
isolinux.boot
isolinux.cfg
lockimage
memdisk
message.txt

If I try and burn any of these it says " Invalid or unsupported file format"

Any clues?

Which version of xboxhdm are you using? and what program did you use to analyse your ISO? I'll open mine and see if there is a bootable file in mine, but what did you use?
