yes but i just tried and it says would you like to trouble shoot and now it took me tto an error 21 how would it work anyway if i have no dashboard

ok now your confusing me my microsoft logo shows up when i'm playing a game and i can't go live becuase my xbox is still set to manual i could go online if i could set it to automatic but don't think i can do that

so if i'm gettng 13 i can do hotswap can i. also can i just let the game play and when i see the ms log diconnect the xbox ide and plug my pc ide into my xbox hard drive will it work?

Hmm I have not known this. But it maybe a good try.
You have to see microsoft logo shows up under the big X and XBOX. then you can do hotswap. Otherwise hotswap wont work.

hey i think my xbox is officially hani-cap it just went to a black screen this time when i tried it with the game do u think my only option now is to get a disk with te M$ dash on it

Sorry Norcross. I dont want you to come to this dead end. If you can find the eeprom.bin from all your backups then you have one more try to fix your xbox.
I have been helping a lot of people to solve their problems but you and djchase. And both of you dont have eeprom.bin either. If you have eeprom, you can rebuild the hdd. Here is the djchase thread.
