Just got thru backing these up.
Wolf Creek-dvdshrink/nero. region 1. No problems
The greatest Game Ever Played-Clone2/with anydvd Region 1. No problems
The Dark-dvdshrink/nero-region 1 No problems. This dvd was interesting because it is a Sony film....and I had tried to back up Fun with Dick and Jane(Sony) and nothing worked, I tried every progrma I have, and it was a no go..however In the Dark backed up just fine.

Surprised Clond DVD2 & Any DVD didn't do the trick. If Sony did come out with something new, I'm sure we'll be seeing another update from Slysoft before this movie is release to those of us in the general public. What's ironic, I kinda recall an article a couple weeks ago concerning Sony & copy protection. It stated that the company would no longer be spending extra money to continue update their copy protection.

I just found it kind of interesting that Sony seems to pick and choose which one of their dvd's has that "protection from hell" guard and some don't
I mean, I didn't even really care about Dick and Jane anyway..so no great loss, but "The Dark" is Sony too, and it backed up perfectly without any major issues...

Did you try the AnyDVD ripper to rip FWDandJ?

Wish I had thought of that before I gave the dvd back to my friend! I had the same issues with Memoirs...and I'm pretty sure ALL those people who backed that movie up( I couldn't, I spent 3 days trying to do it)will have no problem with Dick & Jane. I couldn't believe the amount of people telling me how they backed it up and nothing I tried worked.

Look at this thread it is on the movie

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/326521

AnyDVD is showing the same protection as Geisha, if you get it back use the AnyDVD ripper it should get through it.

On Dick and Jane I tried:
DVD shrink, Fab Decrypter, Clone2 with AnyDVD. Like I said, its no great loss. Box office bomb, makes me wonder why they cared enough to make it so hard?

I agree with your review, Hollywood make dud remakes. Wish they would learn to leave off making them, you can't beat the original movies to begin with.

Buffster, what version of AnyDVD did you use (for Dick and Jane and also for Geisha)? Because when I backed up Geisha, I didn't have any problems with the 5941 version.

I think i'm gonna wait a couple of more days to upgrade to the newest version of AnyDVD. But I will try my latest version with Dick and Jane.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

I cannot for the life of me backup "The Greatest Game Ever Played" using all programs available to us. Any hints on how to go about doing this?
Buffsters directions of

"The greatest Game Ever Played-Clone2/with AnyDVD Region 1."

doesn't work for me. :(

i copied FWDJ yesterday(4/8)with FabDecrypter(free) and shrink and imgburn to burn, no problem.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

clonedvd2 is able to handle files that recode2, shrink and other can not yet, i hardly ever use it because as transcoders, recode2's and shrink's output quality simply RULE!

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

This the link to the thread I started regarding New DVD releases 04/11:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/327861

I may have overlooked some possibly easier steps, but I was able to back up the three titles mention flawlessly. Anybody out there toying around without AnyDVD is making the task of backing up movies extremely hard for themselves. Arccos PuppetLock & Macrovisions RipGuard are no Joke.:P

Picked up the new releases this morning. No problem backing up "Fun With Dick & Jane", "The Greatest Game Ever Played" or "Wolf Creek". Clone DVD2 & AnyDVD cuts thru them like a hot knife going thru butter. Backed up all 3 in under 35 minutes!
