hi i have just finished work and thought i would have a go on the godfather. however upon booting up my ps2 the disc tray wont open the eject button just flashes and the tray makes a noise like its trying to eject but nothing happens just some horrible sounds.

Any body have any ideas on how to fix this

May be off track, may be a lot of things really.
i have idea's but that would be a "do at your own risk"
type.
Mine had a problem like that so i shut it off and manually pulled out the drawer to it's fullest (GENTLY) and had a look at it.
Then turned it on and pressed eject. If that doesn't work turn it back off and gently push it all the way back in and turn it on and press eject. SOMETIME that will work in getting it working.

or just look at this repair guide, problematic disc tray is one of the issues they go into.
