Why can't you FTP a game folder back to your xbox and have it work after ripping with dvd2xbox? or does it work?

Here is what i am thinking:

1. insert original xbox game cd into your modded xbox.
2. use dvd2xbox to copy the game files to your harddrive.
3. ftp into your xbox, and copy the game folder to your pc.
4. delete the game folder from your xbox.
5. ftp the game folder back from your pc to your xbox.

would the game play this way? i have heard that it will not. why wouldnt

it work? or does it work?

1st off why in the world would you want to do this? It is pointless.

Yes it will still work if you rip the Xbox game to your HDD using dvd2xbox and then transfer over the game folder to your computer, then delete the game folder off your Xbox HDD and then transfer the game folder back to your Xbox HDD.

But why on God's green earth would you wanna do it?

i agree it's pointless to do such, but i'll work perfectly as long as you dont change any of the files (like the default.xbe)
