if i wanted to burn portions of a movie (blocks of scenes within a compilation for example) what would be the correct procedure ? i have both dvd encrypter and dvd shrink. thanks.

Use DVDfab decrypter or DVD decrypter (in file mode) to rip the video files to you HDD, then use vobblanker to do what you want.
