Yep, you can hook up the ps2 hdd to your PC and all you you need after it's connected is a application called WinHIIP (great program:) all you have to do to use this program is connect your ps2 hdd as a slave to an ide cable (it can be on the same ide cable as your pc or you can connect it to your cd/dvd drive ide cable) unless your hdd is USB of course. After your ps2 hdd is hooked up just select the drive in winhiip and from there you can send games from you pc hdd and its like 20x faster than the ps2 at installing them :)

Winhiip 1.7.5:

I actually found it easier to buy an external IDE encloser (connects through USB) so that I didn't have to keep opening my PC's case to connect it (about $20). Transfer speeds are fine and it works without a problem with WinHIIP.

It's really simple. First off, go here and make sure your hard drive is compatible with the the PS2's network adapter (required to use a hd).

Once you've verified that your hd will work, connect your hd in the enclosure and connect it to your PC via USB (it'll probably say found new hardware, USB mass storage in the lower right hand corner). Download and install Winhiip onto your computer and execute the program. The basic steps from this point are to select the drive, format it (use HDL unless you have a DMS4Pro and using ToxicOS), and then copy the images off your PC's hard drive (or DVD drive if you haven't backed them up to the PC's hd) onto the new one.

That's it.
