I want to know what the difference is between inkjet and thermal?
Does anybody own one here? I assume that the printing is done with heat instead of an ink cartridge??? What is the print qaulity?

Does the thermal printer below produce smudge/smear proof discs?

I've read some sites that say they use a heat transfer ribbon instead of ink. Anybody have one or has seen a disc printed on one?

Thermal paper is what they use at the Target stores to print reciepts. (I used to work there.) Now Im not sure if this is the same grade thermal paper that is on recordable discs, but for example: If I left a reciept in my wallet the writing would slowly fade away, eventually I would have a blank piece of paper. Same thing with countless customers that would keep reciepts for 85 days stuffed in thier handbag.

Not really the answer I was looking for. I want to know exactly how a thermal printer works as far as printing on dics. Does it smudge after printing? Also, is it done with heat transfer or ink?

Furthur into the description is done with ink and for stick on labels. Chris
