Over here across the pond, the 4x speed media is very hard to find. Most of it is obsolete.

Don't worry, the quality of some of this 8x media is sweet. Even some of my finer media like Verbatim +8x and sony 1x-8x are getting scarce. Every store changing to the 16x speed.

16x Verbs are very sweet.

What's your burner's brand name and model#?

Hopefully all you have to do is update the firmware if you can't find any 4x media.

I use 8x media on my stand alone tv recorder. The specs call for 4x media only. You just have to hope your firmware recognizes those faster speed MID codes.

The only 4x discs that I see any more are the Verbatim Digital Movie Reel discs ... I still get them for my set top recorder when they're on sale ... you can, if you dare, burn them at 12x with a BenQ ...

www.svp.co.uk should have what you need (most likely 8x and above though, i think the only 4x they do are pants quality discs), but as per saugmon, what burner do you have, 8x or 16x might be catered for in your burners' firmware
