Need more info/details in order to proceed.
What movie are you trying to rip/backup? What media did you used? What's the MID? What's the actual error(s) that you're having issue with?

As far as what movie , Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
war of the worlds , anything ex-rental also.
DVD Shrink used to work like a charm, I can burn any new concert videos
that I have for my friends, but I'm now getting this "burn failed, copywrite protection" message now.
When I use Clonedvd2 I get the "bad media" message.
- Using the same media I'v always used, Memorex 16x dvd-r 4.7G.
Not sure what MID is!

Skidor, I generally don't bash a product or compnay but it's no secret that Memorex Discs are some of the worst you can buy. When I first started burning, I was having all sorts of problems all related to bad Memorex media. My advice stay away from cheap media & go with media that has a proven track record.

Memorex is one of the leading, most unpredictable DVD disc brands in existance....If one desires success in backing up DVDs then one must use quality materials, e.g., discs, programs and burners....

Thanks so much for getting back to me , these forums are great !
I agree with you to a point on the disc thing except ;
On the site videohelp.com they tell you what dvds work with every dvd player , even how many times they tried it. ( ie) memorex worked like
6 times out of 8 , anyway never had a problem after that.
There are so many variables when it comes to what dvds work with what players.
What do you consider to be a quality dvd ?

...not Memorex - they use widely varying quality in disc manufacturers so you never know which manufacturers' discs you end up from one purchase to another...

By the way , get this someone gave me a TDK DVD-RW 2x
never used , being only a 2x.
Tried burning Willie Wonka again with DVD clone , and it worked , "no bad media " message.
...go figure!
Now all I have to do is find something that works for my 22 memorex
dvds I have !!

They work very well for trap shooting or 22 cal. target practice. Nice scarecrow adornments, also....
