I am trying to play backups on my PSP, unfortunately it is not working. I have a PSP 1.5 with all the latest Emulators "FastLoader, UMD, and MPH". I am trying to play a game, but the only UMD I have requires 2.5 firmware. How will I get the backups to play, do I need to get a UMD demo that works on a 1.5 game that actually loads? Would anyone know where I can get one? Would anyone be willing to sell it?

no any umd is fine as long as you have one in there, even if it needed firmware 5.0.

Tell me the backup your trying to load?

Dragonball Z game

And Street Fighter ALpha 3 (UMD Fix)

I do this, I put the iso in the ISO folder in my 1GB memcard, then I insert the game. I go to Fastloader, I click to play the iso then it will turn off on me after 1-2 min. I proceed to turn back on and it loads saying "This game requires a firmware upgrade" or something. I have 1.5 not the 2.5 it needs. Thats why I think I need a new UMD. Its the Syphon Filter Dark Mirror UMD Demo Game :-|. Any Ideas on a step by step process to playing a game.

Fastloader wont work for the newer backups
Youll need the UMD emulator and MPHgameloader for some games eg Dragonballz
but for newer then that youll need the new packs available at ps2nfo.
Each games backup has its own special pack.

Dragonball Z works PERFECTLY, however the Street Fighter one, I am trying to follow to the "T", but I can't get it to work right for some odd reason, the tutorial is REALLY confusing to me. He talks about the SFALPHA3 folder but I don't have that, he talks about a "RunUMD", but I have no idea what that is. It's a very confusing tutorial for me, could anyone lay it out simply?

You need the Pack, download it first and it should make much more sense

Thanks everyone that definately was the issue. I had to register and download. It is working great! Thanks. Wish that I could save, but its no bigger. Much appreciated!

Seems I might have to buy a 2GB card soon so I can play GTA and other games :-| These files take up a lot and GTA is 1.16GB.

get umdripper and umdgen
