@Lethal...Why do you think the site will never be the same; I certainly don't disagree with you, there has been a huge drop in the number of questions coming into the forums...at least the ones in which I lurk and I don't understand why. Oh, I know there are a lot of wise a$$ kids posting nonsense but that doesn't seem to apply to certain forums. I lurk about in the receivers/amplifiers section and that sort of nonsense doesn't go on there, well seldom anyway, so why do you think the people seeking assistance has come to a near stand still? It use to be that me, JVC, a certain addict who is no longer with the site and a couple of others could barely keep up...and not all that long ago.. while in a very short period of time things have come to a near stand still. Any ideas why this is occuring? Again, there isn't the same sort of nonsense that goes on elsewhere in the site. The same is true in the displays forum; there isn't much nonsense going on there but it too has really slowed down and with the likes of Ced answering questions in the displays forum, one certainly can't complain about inadequate responses; the man is a wealth of information and helps a great deal (I've learnt a lot from him). Why is this happening do you think?

this is the main reason,most went to other sites..
and from what i been told over and over,they are sick and tired of the children posting.it all started to go down hill because of the Consoles boards..
this main site should be for 18 and older and the Consoles should have there own site.

i've contained the kiddiewinks who are obsessed with the game Animal Crossing in one thread, but they keep escaping/flouting rules. they're not as bad as the xboxers et al but it just doesn't stop, i really wish the Admins would ringfence the console forums somewhere else away from the main forums, not cus we can't keep 'em in line, i just don't think it's good for the site, surely ppl from outside AD must see soooo many posts from us mods chasing the idiots round and it must look bad. Most forums i go into here seem to have mine or another mod's posts constantly sorting out some kid or other...if only they'd script us a machine that makes ppl grow up quicker :)

The forum is slipping away, simply because the good addicts and seniors are walking away, whilst the noobs are spreading like wildfire. Solution should be fairly simple - get some more mods in..?

Because, the adverse effect is, the mods then spend their time clearing up the forums, whilst the rest of the forum is starved of their knowledge. There is so much wisdom on the irc channel that aD could really use, but many of these great members are disappointed with the way the forums are going.
When I joined back in July (Think I caught the tail-end of the "good 'ol days"), senior members were respectful and polite. GrandpaBW, catfreak, et cetera were the guys I looked up to as a mere newbie. Nowadays - though we still have many great seniors - they are being out numbered by the mere "customers".. those who hang around for a good debate/argument/flame, and easily achieve the status in weeks. They subsequently see themselves as exceptions to the rules, are rude and obnoxious to those of lower status, and the knock-on effect is, the standard of the forum goes down another notch.

YES I CAN,even the admin and most of the mods did not know how old he was..i still say 18 years old is the way to go.

For if nobody under 18 was allowed in, there would be no Dela (staff member), or Jannejt (Moderator), both of which have proved themselves in their respective fields.
