Cannot copy these. I used shrink and anydvd. Tried 2 different copies of each, so I assume that there is different copy protection being use. These are the first that I've ever had problems with-very large achieve collection. Any help would be appreciated. Both of these movies are from turner entertainment co. Thanks!

There is nothing on these special, I have many old movies and they are the easist of all to do. Shrink alone can do them. Try ripping to your HDD with DVD Decrypter and then backup the movie. In fact check and make sure that these are not already on a single layer disk, usually many old movies are in which case you can just use DVD Decrypter and do an iso read and then open the MDS file and do an iso write.

Shrink gives a cycle redundancy error on both movies. DVD Decrypter doesn't complete v0b #2 on both-times out with 50 read errors. Log said failed to read sector, illegal mode for this track. I thought it could be bad original disks, but not after getting a second copy of each. Still stumped.

Are you sure the discs aren't scratched? I've had similar problems with discs in not so good quality, and the only way I could get them to backup was by using another one in better shape.

EDIT: Just noticed that you are already on your second set... Hmm, I'm stumped as well.

More than likely the disks are scratched, smudged, or have some other imperfection in them. Try a third set, it is not common but bad presses of disks do happen. I had a set of PBS disks that had some kind of watermark in them due to a bad press I returned them and the next two sets were the same, the set was pulled from the shelf. CRC errors are 99% due to bad disks, only newer movies have Sony/Ripguard on them. And if Decrypter is giving you read errors there is something wrong with the disk.
