Yes, it's possible. You could do some more searching and find out exactly what media your player supports, and perhaps find your answer.

it is a panasonic dvd home theater sound system model # SC-HT670...i just looked at the the owners manual and it says it doesn't support dvd +r...which is wierd becasue thats what ive been using untill now...it says to play DVD-R it needs to be recorded and finalized...i use Nero recode to burn, is there something special i have to do to finalize?

I have a Panasonci DVD-R E80H and no Panasonics will not play +R's unless they are booktyped to DVD-Rom, possibly your burner is capable of doing this automatically, or it is being done in Nero. What speed did you burn at and what media are you using. I use Recode all the time and my Panasonic has no troubles playing the burned disks.

Booktype to dvd-rom is the most compatible format all together....so yes a dvd booktyped to dvd-rom will play where others won't.

I have not had a single problem with this DVD player. It really has been a godsend for me. I just tried Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL and they worked perfect. I also only use Ritek G05 DVD-R Inkjet Hub Printable DVD's. I'v not had a single problem with them either. The sound/video quality is awesome as well.
I suspect this DVD player is picky in what media it will play, which is true for many older Panasonics. The compatibility chart shows it will play "few DVD+" but supports DVD-.

Since noone has asked this yet, please allow me. What brand of DVD- and + media are you using? Brands such as Memorex use media from a variety of suppliers, some not so good.

My suggestions is to stick with what worked for you and explore the booktyping/bitsetting option if your burner supports this. Check out my signature for more info...
