i am lookin to buy a playstation slim line version 12 black. I heard that version 12 has some laser problems can any of the experts tell me if this is true. and can i use magic keys 2 on the version 12

the version 12 does have laser problems
the version 13 had rectified the problems of the V12

i agree, get a V13 or V14 if you can.
If not then you may need to have a laser fix installed in the V12
That or buy a refurbished V7 which would work as well if not better than any slimline and be cheaper too.

Best sticking with the V7 buddy if your thinking of SM then its easier to install. so that another advantage if u look at odds it looks like v7 is the way to go
