I cant belive it. My PS2 just bust. My trusty companion for 3 and a half years now is DEAD. Now as you know life does go on and im gunna buy a new one. Which one should i get. Original (bulky) or the new slinline. I want to use swap magic as well, so which is best. Ive heard stuff about both. Like the Bulky one is old and dies quicker now and the slimline one can break easily. Also rumours have been going around that the slimline laser burns when using swap magic and need some kind of mod. Is this true?

SO i need your help quick guys, which should i get?

what version of swap magic do you currently own (if any)
the new slimline PSTwos don't work with older version of Swap Magic.

the first generation of the slim line PSTwo's had problems with the laser. the current revision of the slim line PSTwo has ironed out those problems.

The Phat PS2s can use the Memory Card Exploit. Where the Slims can not use the Memory card Exploit using a PS1 Disc. Personally, I like the my Phat daddy PS2. Also the Phat PS2 is easier to install a hard drive it has a bay slot for this where the Slim's do not have the room because they are a slim. But as far as one working better then the other it's personal preference unless someone has some specific spec links to prove otherwise. But the First Gen of the Slim PS2 was the one with the Laser issues like stated above.

The new slims seem very tempermental when using back-ups. Very hit and miss by all accounts.

How do I by-pass the access code on a PS2 in order to view a DVD if I didn't set the password previously? I simply want to view DVD's on my PS2 but I can't because the person who gave me the PS2 set an access code on it & I can't reach him to change the previuos password. Some one please help me ASAP? This is an S.O.S.

if you can find a refurbished V7 it will be much better than the new slimline version. They do not have heat issues, you can stick in a hard drive, and they are a very well built model.

oh and when youve deleted it press select and goto setup menu and change parental lock or whatever its called, level to off. Now it wont ask for a password at all. Think you might need to redelete it to get the menu to show up.
