With anydvd running in the background. I want to use dvd decryptor to rip just the movie only onto my HDD what files do I select to do this?

you may also want to click on the 'CSS' tab and check the 'none' box under 'CSS Cracking Method .. this will eliminate any potential conflicts between AnyDVD and Decrypter

how come i decrypt the main movie + IFO file into HD. then how come i can't use nero recode2 to compress it? it give me an eror message.
I use nero 6.6.0.18
recode version 2.2.6.17

Choose the main movie + ifo files and then you should be able to open it with other programs. Try choosing Remake a DVD and see if that works, and then choose your title. If not you can open the file in Shrink but must use the reauthor mode.

In decryptor I chose main movie with ifo's it is now on my hd but shrink cant see it. So how do I compress the movie with shrink if it cant see the movie, What am I doing wrong?
"dvd shrink has encounted an error and can not continue
Failed to open Video_ts.vob
The system cannot find the file specified."
It works with clonedvd2 but not with shrink

click on re-author and find your video_ts folder and then DVD Shrink should be able to reconized your dvd

This is my problem it dose'nt see the folder with the movie in it.

I decrypt the main movie + IFO files into hd then use Remake a dvd but no movie files in that folder. and then i check the actual folder it does have files in it. How come???

I have the same problem with shrink. I will give Nero recode 2 a go to see if I run into the same problem.

well the only way i get the main movie is to use VOB blanker. blank out everything and keep the menu and main movie. but i won't give up. i will try diff way with Nero recode.

You are right if you rip just the main movie to your HDD, Nero Recode will not open it up. Shrink will but you must use reauthor, and your will have no menu. Clone will also open it but I am not sure if you can have the menu doing it that way. Yes your best bet is VobBlanker or DVD Remake to have just he movie and the menu.

I used vobblanker and it works fine, shrink can see it.
A couple of questions:
1)do you loose any quality by going through vobblanker first then shrink
2)Why does it not show up when I use dvd decryptor file mode main movie with IFOs. What am I doing wrong, if everyone else can do it why cant I?
this is what I do:
0) start anydvd 5.9.5.6
1) create a folder to put the movie in
2) open decryptor file mode main movie with IFOs
3) Rips to the folder I created
4) when complete I open shrink
5) click on reauthor
6) open the folder
7) nothing there shrink does not see the video_ts files
So from the list what am I doing wrong?
When I use shrink should I keep the settings deep analysis with max smoothness which is what I usually use for all my movies. I just want the best possible picture that shrink can offer.

technically what ever you do is the same thing as i did with nero_recode2. i decrypt the main movie + IFO, run it through recode2 it doesnot work.. I try to use nero (remake a dvd) still doesnot work.
sorry i can't help u much. but i alway get the main movie this way.
1) decrypt the whole disc.
2) open up vobb, blank out unwanted extra to save space for the m movie.(keep the m movie and menu)
3) open up menu shrink.(shrink the menu to save space for m movie if needed)
4) then run everything through dvdrebuilder + CCE.
5) burn it with nero.
it took quite some time( about 3 hrs) but the quality is super.

No you do not loose any quality, VobBlanker just edits out unwanted material and then puts the original back together.
