Use your normal backup program, but you won't need AnyDVD activated. The encryption is gone, already compressed down to size,so re-ripping those backups should be quicker.

But,re-ripping other peeps backups may not be as easy as what it seems. Lots of variables to consider to be able to re-rip other peeps backups. Here's my formula, and those copies have to have very few errors to be able to re-rip them.

1)Quality media,no crap like memosux/HP/Philips/TDK
2) A safe burn speed of 4x - 8x
3) No multi-tasking
4) Keep harddrive/s defragged
5) Keep pc clean of malware/spyware/and registry errors.
6) Quality DVD-RW drive-critical.
7) No paper/sticker labels

The object on your backups is to keep errors down to a minimum.Too many errors/or errors in the wrong spots and you'll get crc errors-making it very difficult to re-rip.

I can control the quality of my backups, but anybody elses backups are out of my hands. If they were:
Burned too fast
Burned too slow
Used crap media-usually the case!!!!!!!!!
Slapped sticker labels on them
Used a crappy burner like HP
Multi-tasked while they were in the process of backing up
Harddrives were totally fragmented
And the list goes on and on.

Here would be the best route-5 min rip/15 min burn at 4x:

Download DVD Decrypter and use Mode ISO read to harddrive and remember where they go.
After encoding to your harddrive-5 mins or so,Then Mode ISO write:
/click folder/ locate MDS files-not ISO/open/and burn away at 4x.

In case you run into crc errors:

Set a couple settings like this:
Tools/Settings/I/O- Set to ignore all read errors
While you are there: CSS/ Brute force-and ok.

Dual Drives: You could try on the fly with something like Nero/Sonic/Roxio-etc for the copy disc features.Risky thought.DVD Decrypter would be the safest route, and is a more aggressive ripper.

Short version, use a DVD copy software such as Nero Express. Copy DVD in the startsmart Window for Nero takes you to the app. Other suites have similar software. Nero has a full function trial, so you can download a copy. http://www.nero.com/ If you run into a problem reading discs you can use the CD DVD Speed app in the Nero Toolkit and select Scandisc as your option. Bad sectors on a recorded DVD can prevent rerecording even though it may play.

So, simply copy and if a read error crops up, scan it to check it out before asking for more help. That help might be suggesting recovery software if you have sector errors, and that doesn't always work well.

1) Rip with DVD Decrypter in Mode ISO read-remember harddrive and name of file.
2) Insert blank
3) Mode/ISO write
4) Look towards the top/left for source: Please select a file: That's where you'll fish out the MDS file from your harddrive/s.
5) You've got 2 icons: ISO file on top/MDS file just below when you leave the cursor on each icon of that movie title to tell you which is which.
6) Click MDS file/open/set burn speed/and burn away.

It's a little tougher if you have dual harddrives like I have in 2 of my pcs.

Odie214: Sounds like those backups must have been done pretty good if you haven't run into any trouble yet.

If you run into any that won't rip-dreaded crc error, there's a couple of settings in DVD Decrypter that may help.

Good Luck and burn on!
