On every game I have encountered there is a default.xbe file. What is this file used for and is it safe to delete it if needed or would it stop the game working?

The default.xbe is the main exe to start the game. Probably not a good idea to delete it!

no, if your delete it the game or program will not work. From what i have seen they all have the XBE file and will not work without it.
Like above, it is like remove the EXE file of a Windows program,
not a good idea

Thanks for the info but I meant the default.xbe file on the Xbox disc games not on the actual XBox console.

the default.xbe file will do the same thing whether its on a game or a program, it launches the game/program. if you delete this then the game will not work. i assume you are putting a game on a hard drive to ask this?

No, I'm trying to work out what files I can delete to make a game fit on a DVD-5
