I've been trying to read through post after post to try to find out if I can and how to put emulators on my xbox. Looking for nes and snes and genesis etc...
What is needed? My xbox is straight out of the box with no mods. I don't have to get a modchip installed do I? Was hoping this would be fairly easy, but again, couldn't find out how reading through other posts.

You will have to mod your xbox to use emulators on it.There's a great tutorial on here for installing the latest softmod if you don't want to chip it.
Most decent installer discs come with the emulators on them for easy installation.
