Well it's an older drive but see if you can post a log. For Nero look here for the last one:
Nero 6 - program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory.txt
Nero 7 - program files>Nero>Nero7>Core>Nerohistory.txt.
Be sure to edit out the serial #.
Or for decrypter do you have the exact error? Did you save that log?
For the log when running just press 'L' and you can copy and past it.

That's exactly what mine is doing - Power Calibration Area Error. I'm using DVD Decrypter and a NEC DVD+RW ND-6100A. The drive recognizes the disk and I used DVD Shrink to get the iso file. I tried Nero too but it didn't work with it either. Thanks for your help!

Straight from Nero - here's what can cause a power calibration error:
I get a 'Power calibration error' or 'Calibration area (almost) full' error message. Why?
Power Calibration is controlled by the recorder.
Before any write operation, all recorders must do a 15 step power test to determine the optimum power for writing to the CD; this is called "Optimum Power Calibration"(OPC). During the write, it continues to do this test to get the best write throughout the whole CD; this is called "Running Optimum Power Calibration" (ROPC).
This whole process is controlled by the recorder, though initiated by programs such as Nero. There is an area on the inner part of the CD for the test and test data info to be stored. You can use this area up to 999 times.
If you receive the "Power calibration error" or "Power calibration area is (amost) full" error message, the cause will be either poor media, poor power, or a defective recorder.
Please try the following solutions:
* Update the firmware of your recorder. Please check the manufacturer's website for the latest version.
* Try another brand of CD-R or CD-RW media.
* Try different power connectors, and for recorders, do not share power with other devices. It needs its own power connector. If the error occurs with an external recorder, the power source in the chassis could be the cause. As a test, try to take the recorder out of the external chassis and connect it internal.
* Try different configurations, such as taking the CD-ROM to the primary IDE bus as slave and have only the recorder connected to the secondary IDE bus as master.
* Send the recorder in for service.
I would start with the firmware and brand of dvd's and go from there. Make sure you're using quality stuff like Verbatim, made in Japan only Fuji, Sony or Maxell.

k. Here is is the brand im useing is nextech we have been useing them. Resently i moved and un hooked my comp and mabey put the wrong power supply cord in to the cpu. I have 3 of them that go to diff things like sub woofers and others i might of mixeed them up. Is that what ur talking about power calibration. it cant be ther firm ware or the disks cause we have used them all along. the disks. the recorder reads any disk this is the only problem i EVER had. i cant fig it out. Mabey the recorder is taking a dumb
it is used a lot but if it reads and works, would the recording part not work? I dunno if that made sence but it sucks. hmm is there any tests i can do to test if it is infact the burner it self or anything elkse in my cpu?
cac
also it labeled my main drive as 1-0-0-0
and my secondary nec cdrw drive as 1-0-1-0
if it matter mabey that will help but i did flash it witht he most up to date thing
hope this helps

Since you moved the pc maybe something came loose. Check all your connections from the drive: internal power cable from drive to power supply and the ide cable from drive to mobo. I would unplug then plug them back in to make sure they're set right.
