Ok, I put in the swap magic right. Then I let it load. Then I opened the disc tray at the swap magic "load program" and "video mode" screen and took out the disc, and then it went to the "Insert a disc with a high TOC" screen. After that I inserted GTA: San Andreas, so now it goes back to the load program and video mode screen, but it's saying not a valid PS2 disc. Can someone please help. It's a swap magic version 3.6 and I have a swap tool installed. I also tried all of my some other of my PS@ games like Devil may cry 3 Speacial Edition, Ratchet and Clank up your Arsenal, GTA: Vice city. And none of these work.

your not being very specific. What tool are you talking about? Do you have a slim or fat ps2? When it says "Insert a disc with a high TOC", the ps2 knows you opened it.
V9 PS2, flip top, SMD, DVDLoader
Pioneer 107, ritek g05
DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, Nero

Yep, you must use it in conjunction with the Fliplid or the Slidetool/card.

I've got the same problem, I bought Kingdom Hearts II from the US recently to play on my PS2 here in the UK, and got Swap Magic 3.6 and the Slim Tool from eBay.
I fitted the three tools(as far as I know)properly, booted up Swap Magic and got to the Load Program, Video Mode page. Opened up the lid and got an "Insert bigger TOC disc" error. I went ahead anyway and put Kingdom Hearts II in, it gave me a message of "Not a valid PS2 disc" and when I tried to load it it froze for a second, and then went back to the Load Program page.
The funny thing is, if I close the lid 3/4 of the way the discs start spinning, but I get the same error.
My slimline PS2 is v12 Scph-700003.
Help!

Insert bigger TOC means the PS2 data has been reset, so it knows you have removed the disc and will verify the next one to check if it is an original. You must not have the tools fitted properly.

Ah, thanks.
Would you know what tool was likely to be causing that problem or could it be any of them?
As far as I know Tool A (the smallest one in the bottom right) was the only one I had trouble fitting in, as it wouldn't click in and just kept on coming out. What does Tool A do specifically anyway?
Tool B (disc break)is in as far as it will go and well as Tool C (the hinge).

The disc brake tool is superfluous, as far as I know.
Both Tool A and Tool C work by pressing down on the lid sensors which tell the PStwo whether the lid is closed or open. As long as any one of these two sensors isn't pressed down, the PStwo will think that it is still open -- thus giving you the "Insert a disc with a high TOC" screen upon booting up the Swap Magic discs. Personally, I just stuffed a small wad of tissue into the hole where tool A would go, myself :P

Lol, well I got Tool A working but it's still giving me the message.
So I might try this Tape and Tissue (I'm not fussed about the warranty, I've got a bulky PS2 anyway) method or invest in a flip top.
Edit: How is Tool B superfluous then? What is it it's supposed to do?

I have a slim PS2, and I used the swap tool pro, along with swap magic 3.6. I also had trouble putting in tool A. So finally, I just decided to get a flip top cover. Is that better than the swap tool pro? Would the TOC problem be solved if i just get a filp top cover instead?

Im using a flip-top cover and ultimate swap disc, when i use the swap magic on it it always returns to the browser screen, and when i select the disc there, it just goes black for a while, then goes back to the browser screen. Could any of you guys help me out?

When you're talking about a laser problem, are talking to me or Revan?

Tool B is superfluous in that all it does is prevent the disc brake from working; there is no sensor under that lid tab. And the tab on your PStwo lid will hold the disc brake back when the lid is closed, anyway, making tool B kinda useless unless you are the type who likes to run games with the lid open for no good reason. So it's pretty meaningless for actual Swap Magic usage -- but since it basically prevents the disc brake from ever being used, it will keep the brake nice and sparkly fresh, just like the day it was born! ...err, manufactured.
Here's my own tutorial for the tape/tissue mod, if you're interested:

Your laser must be dying.

Is there anyway to prevent the laser from dying? And if it is dying, will I eventually need to get it replaced?

Yes, you will have to replace the diode inside.. about a £30-£35 charge. And unless you know what you are doing, don't try doing it yourself or re-aligning it, or you may damage the laser unit and end up paying about £50-£60 for a whole new unit.
