@Junbleloo

Welcome. If only you'd searched you'll be surprised and amazed how many threads are already talked in here. Anyways, just incase if you want to go the FREE route, then follow the following steps.

To successfully rip and backup "The Chronicles of Narnia", all you ever needed is the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter (FREE) + VobBlanker (FREE), and then use whatever your desire transcoders or encoders afterward.

To make a long story short, here's how to do it:

(1) rip the movie(any movies) with the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter into your hard drive, wait until it's successfully completed (this usually takes like 12 - 15 minutes only).

(2) open up VobBlanker and follow the below steps:

(A) INPUT = load your already ripped VIDEO_TS.IFO from hard drive
(B) OUTPUT = make a new VIDEO_TS folder in your hard drive or if you have 2 hard drives, then set the new OUTPUT into a different destination aka hard drive (this will process faster like 5 minutes only)
(C) click "PROC.ALL" at the RIGHT
(D) click "PROCESS" at the bottom

That's it... easy as sippin' on some Heineken. Now just sit tight and wait until VobBlanker is completed, then load/import your newly created VIDEO_TS file/folder that VobBlanker created into DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 or DVD-RB Pro + CCE and perform your usual "transcoding/encoding" process. And of course, the rest is history.

Best of lucks to all and happy burning!

You're welcome, glad I could help. Now enjoy your backup to the fullest. I strongly recommend you follow these "exact" steps for any of your future dvds/movies (new released). Make sure you have the latest version from DVDFAB Decrypter (to rip into your hard drive - one of the best FREE ripper at the moment) and then just follow by VobBlanker (as the above mini guide - VobBlanker is one of the strongest craps/junks, invalid data structure, invalid pgc, etc. "processing" FREE tool).

I GUARANTEE YOU 100% that you'll be able to "successfully" rip and backup any movies/dvds regardless of what kind of protections were encrypted onto the movies/dvds, you'll be free of worries and you're free to backup them flawlessly.

Best of lucks to you and happy burning!

Decrypter also has no problems ripping this disc. Lot's of people claimed that it failed with errors, but I found none whatsoever. Still, run them through Vobblanker to remove extra junk and fix invalid structure.

I cheat...I use AnyDVD :) I still use VOBB though to remove all those annoying screens.

Anyway, very easy backup.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Well I have been trying all day to burn Narnia using the way alkohol said, but have had no success. I think VobBlanker keeps messing up while its doing whatever it is it does. When I open the VIDEO_TS folder using Shrink and the 'open files' option I get

'DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to open file "C:\Documents and Settings\Jay\Desktop\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO"The System cannot find the file specified.'

I dont know if VobBlanker did the error and someone who used the comp just closed out the box that said "VobBlanker encountered and error and cannot continue" Could someone please help me? Thank you

Busy trying this method now after having failed with DVD Shrink and AnyDVD. So far so good - Bobblanker 70% complete and me on tenterhooks.

Hi all,

I successfully backed up Narnia this way:

1) DVDFAB - Rip to HD
2) Shrink - Reauthor Main Movie Only
3) DVDD - to burn

Very simple.

Hi Folks!
What the? It seems some can ripp narnia dvd without any dramas and others are having difficulties. I fall into the later and find that DVD fab cant get passed the vob 2 file and just fails to continue on. Its not scratched and doesnt show any faults and I have also tried another DVD of Narnia. The version DVD FAB I have is 2.9.6.5 freeware version.

Why is this? I dont want to download the latest because this is free for 30 day trial version. Is there anything im missing in the settings or can DVD decrypter be used by resetting some of its settings.
