I have a ~600MB file with the first 3% missing - is it possible to somehow apply a "sticking plaster" and fake the creation of MPEG headers the start of the file allowing the rest to play, or is vital (and non redundant) information in the header blocks at the start of the file?

Your experiences much appreciated & any tools that might help me to achieve this.
