I noticed meritline has some Tys on sale. They are printable -r x4. I have only used verbs printable -r x8. I have had great results with the verbs burning at x4. Do you think these tys will be just as good and what would I need to do about the speed? drop to 2.4 being they are x4. Thanks guys

If your PC is healthy and your DVD drive(s) is/are up to date, you can easily burn those discs at 4x. I'm assuming those -R discs are great (since when is TY not?) but the question is whether meritline offers genuine TYs. DocTY, among others, would know. I only shop with Supermediastore and Newegg so I don't know about the other online merchants.

You can't go wrong with genuine TYs and Verbatims.

yeah, meritline.com sells authentic TYs, just have to make sure you purchase the Taiyo Yudens specifically cuz they have other media that is listed under their "premium grade" that are FAR from being even decent quality~ :)

IF you do get the TYG01s (specifically the 4x dvd-r), burn them @4x; 2.4x speed is no longer even necessary nor recommended when you use GOOD quality media, and these TYs are very good...

depending on what drive you are currently using, and also depending on what you actually receive when you pay for the 4x DVD-R TYs (you could get TYG02 or TYG03 - 8x and 16x respectively) depending on what they have in stock/on hand, i would even go as far as suggesting to burn even faster than @4x if you get either the TYG02s or TYG03s ~ :)

need more specifics on what you are working with outdoor before i can give you more advice with burning to TYs...if you have any more questions about TY, pop in my thread and i'll help ya out...
