sounds like the button is stuck down, so it thinks its being held down and turns off. Anyone with any thoughts?

I have same problem. can anyone please help?

I bought it 2 weeks ago. Now the green light wont stay on and the cd doesn't spin. It doesn't turn on. But I'm sure the power is coming. The red LED is always on.

If you can, see what your local EB Games/Gamestop or other local gamestore can do to fix it. It might be a problem with the power ribbon cable, have you modified it recently?

Check out playstation.com (the official site) find something like "consumer warning". Recently, they recalled a bunch of power adapters, you can check your model # and see if you're affected
